Beach Reach - UAFS BCM

During spring break, 21 students from the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) chose to spend their week on mission. They attended Beach Reach, a unique mission trip that takes place each year in Panama City Beach, Florida. BCM students from around the country traveled to PCB to share the Gospel and serve the college students spending their spring break partying.

Beach Reach ministry took place from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. each night. The primary way BCM students served was by providing free shuttle rides to spring breakers in PCB. The shuttle teams picked up spring breakers and drove them safely to their destinations — but the ride also offered an opportunity to have meaningful conversations about life, faith, and Jesus. Many students were open to hearing the Gospel during their drive.

Meanwhile, there were street teams who walked the sidewalks outside of the bars and restaurants, offering prayer, advertising the shuttle service, and engaging with people who were open to conversation.

Throughout the week, the Fort Smith BCM team prayed with 192 individuals, had 152 Gospel conversations, and led 4 people to Christ. Praise God!

The impact didn’t end there. Beach Reach did not only impact the spring breakers, it also deeply affected the students who went. Many of them stepped out of their comfort zone, shared the Gospel for the first time, and came home with a renewed passion to live on mission in their everyday lives.

As these students are now back on the UAFS campus, they are remembering the conversations and experiences at Beach Reach. They desire to continue sharing the love of Christ — not just in Panama City Beach, but right on their campus at UAFS.

Please continue to pray for these students as they follow up with the people they met and bring their hearts for evangelism back to Fort Smith. Let’s also pray that the seeds planted during Beach Reach will continue to grow, both in the lives of the spring breakers and in the lives of our students who answered God’s call to go.
